Read-In-Club Project Kickoff in Corfu Town

The Reading for Cultures Across Borders - 2020-1-ELO1-KA227-ADU-94627 project aims to create an international online platform where reading clubs and book lovers from different countries can stay in touch even if they cannot do so in person due to a possible new epidemic. The importance of this effort is underlined by the fact that many of the book clubs and reading circles in some countries have almost completely disappeared during the Covid closures. But there are book lovers and people who love reading still everywhere!

During the meeting, the international team compared the results of the preliminary surveys conducted in the reading circles, which focused on the structure, functioning and aspirations of the organisations in each partner country. In the Hungarian survey, we were able to interview 7 reading circle leaders and 25 members, and we also found a very nice and cooperative and supportive organisation in the form of the Association of Reading Clubs in Hungary.

At the meeting, the partners also agreed on administrative, management and dissemination tasks, and prepared the launch of the next work package, which will include the creation of a project website and the production of the online training material for club leaders in the languages of each participating country.
